OCEAN TO EARTH
For those of you who love the beach and
unspoilt Gerakas scenery, but who have also been bitten by the sailing bug,
then this is the perfect opportunity to combine both sea and sand!
During your 7 or 14 nights at Gerakas booked into accommodation of your
choice, you will spend 3 days on privately chartered sailing yacht The Athinoula
- with experienced skippers Tassis or Dennis - sailing north of Zakynthos,
around the Ionian Islands of Kephallonia, Ithaca and Lefkas.
Kephallonia, the setting for Captain Corelli’s Mandolin, with its magnificent mountains, deep valleys and deserted beaches; Ithaca, the legendary home of Ulysses; and Lefkas with its miles of beautiful abandoned beaches and white limestone cliffs on the west coast.
Each night you will arrive at a new destination: the ports of Fiskardo, Ithaca and Poros, where you can relax and look around, have dinner in one of the harbour side restaurants and later return to the comfort of your cabin.
In the day you will explore the coastline of each island, visiting empty beaches and discovering hidden caves, and experience exhilarating sailing action!
The 47-foot Athinoula sleeps up to 8 people. She is comfortably fitted out with a living room, kitchen and a bathroom with shower, toilet and basin.
Please note: The 3 days sailing will normally take place approximately half way through your holiday, but can be altered to suit your requirements. While you are on board The Athinoula, your accommodation at Gerakas will still be booked in your name. Therefore, it will not be let out to anyone else in your absence. You will also be able to leave your luggage in your accommodation.
