Ithaca is a very small, beautiful island and still maintains the traditional Greek feel that has been hidden by mass tourism on other islands.

Kioni is one of the prettiest villages on the island and is situated at the end of a road so remains quiet even in high season. The harbour is small and it is edged by a museum, a few small shops, 6 tavernas serving a wide selection of home made food and wine and two bars, both on the water’s edge. Perhaps the most charming part about staying at the Kioni Apartments will be meeting the locals who give the village its welcoming warmth and interest.

There are four small beaches, Katsikouli, Sarakinari, Plakoutses and Filiatro, all within easy walking distance of the accommodation. All beaches are excellent for swimming and snorkelling and Filiatro has a small taverna serving cold drinks, light lunches and dinner.

The Apartments are built into solid rock and have a real traditional Greek Village design situated on the waterfront just a few steps from the waters edge. There are seven one bedroomed apartments, each containing a well equipped kitchenette area with fridge and combination oven and grill and a comfortable living area with French doors leading onto a private sea-facing balcony or terrace. All are elegantly furnished and have air conditioning and Nova satellite television. They are ideal for a couple looking for the extra degree of comfort or families with one or two children as each has a twin bedroom, and the living area has two divans.

Katherine Venturas, the owner, speaks excellent English and is always on hand to help. Maid service is provided every day except Mondays and bed linen and bath towels are provided and changed every 3 days. A welcome basket containing coffee, tea, local bread, Greek wine and bottled water is provided and discount for breakfast can be negotiated with the owner of the restaurant downstairs.
